Media Types

There are five media types used in the Holyland Virtual Tour. Some of the media such as the video or the VRs will take time to download if you are on a slow connection. Most of the media listed below requires the use of Quicktime. You can download it free from Apple.

Factoids
Factoids are small snippets of information that appear below each media item you are looking at. There are over 200 on the CD, below is a screenshot example.


Audio
There is several hours of audio (compressed in MP3 format) on the Holyland Virtual Tour. A small snippet can be heard below. Click on the small triangle on the left to start the audio example.


Photo
There are 70 still photos in the Holyland Virtual Tour, such as the example below.


Video
There are over 40 video clips in the Holyland Virtual Tour, such as the example below. The videos start automatically on the CD. For now, use the controller to run the example.


VRs
There are over 60 VRs in the Holyland Virtual Tour. Put simply, a VR is a 360 degree panorama picture that you can move yourself. Below you can see what looks like a photo, However, take your cursor and move it over the photo. Press the mouse button "down". As you keep the mouse button down, move the cursor to the left, right, up, or down to observe the location. To take a closer look, move your cursor over the image, then use your Shift key to zoom in and your Control key to zoom out.
